Recently, father and daughter Stepanyans from Shahmasur village of Martakert region applied to The Rehabilitation Centre. The Stepanyan family was deported from Baku in 1988, came to Artsakh, lived for a while in Shushi, in Stepanakert, then moved to Shahmasur and received a house as a family with many children where they eventually settled.Arthur was the only child in the house, he says he always felt lonely so he promised to have many children. He did not break his promise: he has 10 children, five boys and five girls. The oldest of the children is 15 years old and the youngest is 4 months old.Arthur does not have a permanent job, but he does not sit idle, he is responsible for ten children, he suffers and takes care of the family expenses. He tries to create all the favorable conditions for his children so that they do not need anything. In his free time he is engaged in agriculture to accumulate winter supplies.Today he and his daughter are receiving inpatient treatment at a rehabilitation center. Arthur has problems with the lumbar spine, and Alexandra has a diagnosis of cerebral palsy, monoparesis of the lower right limb. Alexandra, who has already become everyone’s favorite in the centre, is 7 years old and is in the second grade of Shahmasur secondary school. Her favorite subject is Russian. Alexandra loves her sisters and brothers very much and remembers them every day mentioning their names in order. Here they receive appropriate rehabilitation treatment as well as participate in painting and pottery classes. In their spare time Alexandra loves to learn her lessons.Let’s hope that in the future we will see Alexandra’s achievements and will hear about the successes of the Stepanyan family.
