Arayik is from the village of Kolatak in the Martakert region. He applied to The Rehabilitation Centre with a diagnosis of acute demyelinating polyneuropathy, Guillain-Barre syndrome, gait disorder. Arayik was in Krasnodar when on August 10, 2021 he arrived at the hospital because of a cause of unknown origin. Then Arayik was found in a wheelchair. His whole body was weak and he could not walk. After receiving first aid at a Krasnodar hospital for a week Arayik returned to Armenia where he spent almost a month at Erebuni Medical Center. Then he came to Artsakh and applied to the Caroline Cox Rehabilitation Centre for the necessary rehabilitation treatment. Here Arayik received rehabilitation treatment for almost two months. Fortunately, the positive results did not wait long. His condition is assessed as generally satisfactory: there is a strengthening of the muscles of the lower extremities, improvement of balance and gait. Today he is able to move on his own using a cane only when needed.
